Falklands Armoury

Operation corporate - the Falkland war - is already established in the annals of British military history. For the veterans, the memories of war in those bleak distant islands is a constant companion but in the months since the guns fell silent, stories have circulated, rumours persisted, and legends have grown.

Dedicated to all who took part in the campaign, Falklands Armoury is an illustrated record of the British forces which fought the war and of their equipment. The stories of the men and the actions they fought have been told and retold, and while the politicians argue over the aftermath of the war, soldiers sailors and airmen and military enthusiasts around the world have turned their attention to the facts. The Falklands War was the first fully modern high-technology war, yet it was a war in which the courage stamina and professionalism of the man ont the ground, in the cockpit or behind the radarscope was instrumental in acheiving victory.

The combat dress of the participating British forces of all services are depicted in meticulous all-colour artwork and their badges in full-colour photographs : the Royal Marines, Parachutes regiment and SAS, the Welsh Guards and Scots Guards, the Royal Navy and Fleet Air Arm, the RAMC, the Royal Engineers and Royal Artillery, the Blues and Royals, Gurkha Rifles and the RAF.
